๐Ÿซ˜Hereโ€™s your beans bodyguard line-up โคต๏ธ ๐ŸŒฑDill, Ci ๐Ÿซ˜Hereโ€™s your beans bodyguard line-up โคต๏ธ

๐ŸŒฑDill, Cilantro & Alyssum controls aphids by bringing in the good bugs like lacewings, parasitic wasps & ladybugs who love a good aphid buffet.

๐ŸŒฑRosemary, Catnip, Chamomile, Marigolds & Summer Savory repel Mexican Bean Beetles.

๐ŸŒฑNasturtiums serve as a deterrent for bean beetles & a trap crop for aphids.

My goal for my beans is to alternate an herb and a flower.

We want to attract the beneficials in with the flowers and repel the bad pests with the herbs (scent).

Your fall garden probably doesnโ€™t need a total ove Your fall garden probably doesnโ€™t need a total overhaul. It needs a refresh.

Before you throw fall seeds into the ground, walk your beds first.

Pull whatโ€™s genuinely done. Leave whatโ€™s still producing โ€” theyโ€™re still working for you. Remove anything diseased or pest-infested, and weed now before those weeds drop seed everywhere youโ€™re about to plant.

While youโ€™re in there, check under leaves, around stems and at the soil line. Thatโ€™s where pests and eggs hide. Top-dress tired beds with finished compost, re-form any edges that have washed out, and check your irrigation for leaks, clogs and dry spots.

Keep your beneficial insect habitat. Donโ€™t rip it all out in the name of starting fresh. Add bodyguard flowers and herbs in the gaps, but protect whatโ€™s already working.

Then plan before you plant. Check days to maturity, count back from your first frost, get pest cloth ready for brassicas and tender seedlings, and label everything with the date it went in.

Then start scouting immediately.

Fall gardens still get pests. Fall seedlings still struggle in heat. Planting something new doesnโ€™t mean you stop paying attention.

This is why I donโ€™t tear my garden fully apart between seasons. I refresh the space, replace whatโ€™s finished, and keep the ecosystem Iโ€™ve spent months building working for me.

P.S.

โ€”

I dropped the full checklist format since the prose version reads better in the feed and doesnโ€™t look like a blog post screenshot. The save CTA at the end is low-pressure and gives the algorithm something to work with.

Want me to write a hook variation or two to test at the top?

I recently found a break in my drip tape line (pos I recently found a break in my drip tape line (possibly happened when we pulled out the raccoon corn) and needed to make a repair.

Follow along as I show you the process.

Iโ€™ve been using @dripworksusa ever since I laid water lines to my garden. Can you believe I used to hand water this entire garden??!!

Boy howdy, having a water line laid made a world of difference. Anyways - this season, I knew I was going to have a watermelon patch and needed a different setup. Plus I was redesigning my main setup. So I reached out to their Customer Service with my garden layout with what I was going to do and asked them to help me understand what I needed to order.

A few emails back and forth and I had a full list of exactly what I needed to add to my cart.

During that exchange, I asked if I could have a code to share with my followers who wanted to setup an irrigation system in their own gardens. And they gave me a code!

Use sugarcreekfarm for 5% off in-stock irrigation supplies (some exclusions may apply).

Let me know what questions you have about drip tape irrigation systems!
