Before anything goes back in the bed, here’s what Before anything goes back in the bed, here’s what I do first: 🌱 Pull out all dead and spent plants 🚫 Pull out anything diseased and trash it, not compost, trash 🪱 Add a good layer of compost on top of your soil 🌿 Scratch it in if you can, or broadfork it in if you really want to do it right 💧 Get some water on the soil to start working those nutrients in Right as you’re planting: 🩸 Add a nitrogen boost with blood meal 🌟For each transplant hole I add water, worm castings, and blood meal before the plant goes in. 🌟If you’re direct sowing, the compost will help “feed” the plant. Once you see the first true leaves, that’s two full sets of leaves, fertilize with fish emulsion. Your fall harvest starts with what you do to your beds right now. P.S.
